“Clipped” June 4 (FX)

Based on the “The Sterling Affairs” from ESPN’s 30 for 30, “Clipped” goes behind the scenes and in depth with NBA owner Donald Sterling’s viral racist remarks. The series kicks off with Doc Rivers (Laurence Fishburne) coming to coach the LA Clippers in 2013, juggling the team’s talents and personalities with Sterling’s own notoriously difficult presence. FX calls the series “an Obama-era story of racial reckoning delivered via meme,” created by showrunner Gina Welch who executive produces along with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Zanne Devine, Ramona Shelburne, and Kevin Bray (who directs three of the six episodes). Costarring Jacki Weaver and Cleopatra Colman.
