Emma Fraser writer journalist

Emma Fraser is a freelance contributor to IndieWire. A reporter and critic with 15 years of experience, she covers television and movies, with a specialty in costume design and TV history.

Emma has bylines at The Daily Beast, Backstage, IGN, Elle, Town & Country, Vulture, GQ, Primetimer, Little White Lies, and more. From the moment Emma first watched “The X-Files,” “My So-Called Life,” and “E.R.,” she wanted to pull back the curtain of this industry. More than a decade later, after graduating with an MA in Film and Television from the University of East Anglia, Emma began blogging about TV style on shows like “Mad Men” and recapping “The Vampire Diaries.” Since, highlights have included being the editorial lead and an author on the forthcoming book, “The Magnificent, Magical, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: The Authorized Companion to the Making of an Iconic Series,” reporting from the “Banshees of Inisherin” shooting locations in Ireland, and talking to numerous department heads about everything from prosthetic penises to casting Tony-nominated actors. Emma has appeared on podcasts, including “Podcast Like It’s…” and “Podlander Drunkcast.”

A passion for scouring eBay, Etsy, and thrift stores for vintage magazines taps into her latest TV and film obsessions like the recent “I Love Lucy” phase. Emma also regularly reads Hollywood memoirs and explores the fashion of sitcoms past and present. She also holds an impressive win streak as a key member of a pub quiz team (if she doesn't mind saying so). You can find her at authory.com/EmmaFraser or on Twitter or Instagram at @frazbelina.
