Mark Peikert

    Mark Peikert is a senior-level content creator and editor with over 15 years of editorial leadership experience in film, television, and theater coverage. Boasting strong relationships within the entertainment industry, Mark has revitalized legacy publications multiple times in his career, organically growing readership and expanding brand awareness while maneuvering the companies into new revenue streams.

    Over the course of his career in journalism, Mark has served as editor-in-chief of New York Press, Backstage, and Playbill. An accomplished host and moderator, Mark has been part of FYC panels hosted by SAG-AFTRA Foundation and BAFTA with stars including Julianne Moore, Matt Bomer, Angelina Jolie, Andrew Garfield, Margo Martindale, Keegan-Michael Key, and many more. He also hosted the YouTube series Stream Stealers for Playbill, for which he interviewed performers including Patrick Wilson, Tatiana Maslany, Kristen Bell, and more.

    Mark's writing has been seen in publications including Rolling Stone, Elle, Town & Country, Out, and The Wrap. His first novel, Jagged Sophistication, is available on Amazon. You can hear him on the weekly podcast Shocking! Lurid! Tawdry: A History of American Scandals. He co-created and co-wrote the scripted podcast As the Curtain Rises, starring Ariana DeBose, Michael Urie, Ashley Park, and many more.

    Originally from Texas, Mark attended Sarah Lawrence College (where he majored in film history and did not join a cult) and then spent 20 years living and working in New York City. He now lives in Los Angeles. You can follow him on all social platforms @MarkPeikert.
